The Lentävä Lapanen knitting café is a cosy combination yarn store and café. It is like a living room for those who have found a passion for knitting, as well as being a wonder world of yarn. Lentävä Lapanen is located in downtown Järvenpää right next to the train station. The knitting café is where the joy of the handicraft and good company come together over a lovely cup of coffee. The yard store houses a small café for 15-20 people, where delicious local products are served.
In commemoration of Sibelius's 150th birthday jubilee, we along with Ainola have produced a package of materials - Aino's lapaset by Aino Sibelius. The package contains a knitting outline and yarn that can be used to knit Aino Sibelius's gloves. Aino Sibelius, née Järnefelt (1871 - 1969), was married to composer Jean Sibelius in the summer of 1892.
Lentävä Lapanen has its own domestic yarn known as Lempi, which is made from the wool of the Kainuun Harmas sheep. The wool is then dyed by hand. The wool is best suited to stockings.
We also arrange courses in knitting and weaving on request. For more information, contact us at: Tämä sähköpostiosoite on suojattu spamboteilta. Tarvitset JavaScript-tuen nähdäksesi sen.
